After 30 years of dedicated service, we bid a fond farewell to Simon Bell, who has decided to retire from his full-time role at Custom Covers.

Simon has been an integral part of the company, leaving an indelible mark not only on our business but also on the wider industry. Known for his expertise, professionalism, and warm personality, Simon has earned the respect and admiration of colleagues and customers alike.

Simon has expressed his heartfelt thanks to his colleagues and customers for all the support shown over the years, reflecting on how Custom Covers has successfully weathered significant challenges, including foot-and-mouth disease and the pandemic, during his tenure. He is proud to have been part of a company that has been at the forefront of modernising the event hire industry.

We are pleased to share that Simon’s journey with us is not entirely over! We have persuaded him to stay on as a Non-Executive Director, and, after a transition period in January, he will work with us two days a month in this role. His guidance and experience will continue to be invaluable as we move forward.

In addition, we are pleased to announce that John Cowen has been promoted to the position of Technical Manager and will now join the Management Team at Custom Covers. John has been a valued team member for over 5 years, with a brief departure to work independently. With more than 12 years of industry experience, John brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise back to the team, and we are thrilled to welcome him into this leadership role.
